With the apt faculty-to-student ratio, excellent infrastructure, assured placements, and a chance to learn, Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning is one of the finest institutes in northeast India. Our aim, at Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning, is to educate and train aspiring architects in theory and in practice; to build an environment that is practical, elegant, and exquisite.

Due to the scarcity of architecture colleges in the northeast region, budding architects had to travel far and wide to fulfill their dream, taking note of which Ar. Abani Das, the Managing Trustee of Dona Foundation, started an Architecture College in Guwahati, Assam , as a Dona Foundation initiative. Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning is dedicated to the states of North East India and especially to the students of Assam.
With roots deep in providing quality education and with a view to provide students a platform to learn and showcase their talent, the foundation stones of Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning (formerly known as Guwahati College of Architecture) were laid.

Dona Foundation established Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning, or GCAP, in 2006 with a purpose to provide an academically strong platform to students who not only wanted to make a good career but also wanted to leave an enduring impression in the field of architecture.

We believe in bringing together aesthetics, design, comfort, planning, endurance, and solid technical expertise in amalgamation. We look to bridge the gap between raw talent, and skilled experts, putting together Technology, Humanities and Aesthetics into a special curriculum, most suited for the students of today and tomorrow, as we focus on holistic development.

We work on the personalities of our students to enable them to be creators and independent thinkers. Our vision is to train and educate budding architects of high caliber, and to become the center of perfection in architectural studies.

GCAP aims to provide it’s students with all the needful facilities and a campus, which is amidst the beautiful region of Assam, allowing them to grow and harness their skills. GCAP has been able to make a career in architecture, attainable by providing the necessary platform to foster the upcoming talent.

Our Vision: The North-East Regions of India is famous for its Arts and Crafts and fascinating nature. It is said that Architecture is the mother of all arts. Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning shall stand out as an Institute of Excellence in reflecting this – Arts, Crafts, Culture and nature blended beautifully in its Architectural education including Post Graduate courses.
